Warranty

Thank you for choosing Omni Music Shop (OMS). Our products are designed and manufactured to provide a high level of performance. OMS sells its products directly online and is pleased to offer you, the Original Owner, the following Limited Warranty, which applies only to products that have been (1) directly purchased from us in brand new condition and (2) purchased and used exclusively in the fifty states of the USA and District of Columbia (the “Warranted Area”). OMS suggests that you read the Limited Warranty thoroughly, and invites you to contact us if you have any questions.

Coverage for Instruments: OMS warrants new acoustic instruments to be free from defects in materials and construction for five years from the date of purchase by or for the Original Owner; OMS warrants the body of the instruments covered by this warranty to be free from cracks for one year from the date of purchase by or for the Original Owner. OMS will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the instrument covered by this warranty if it becomes defective, malfunctions or otherwise fails to conform with this warranty under normal use and service during the term of this warranty. Repairs may be performed using new or refurbished parts that meet or exceed OMS specifications for new parts. If OMS elects to replace the product, the replacement may be a reconditioned unit. You, as the Original Owner, will be responsible for any initial shipping charges if the product must be shipped for warranty service. However, OMS will pay the return shipping charges to any destination within the Warranted Area if the repairs are covered by the warranty. This warranty does not cover:

  1. Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from accident, negligence, misuse, abuse, improper installation or operation or failure to follow instructions according to any Owner’s Manual for this product; any shipment damage of the product (claims must be presented to the carrier instead); repair or attempted repair by anyone other than OMS;
  2. Any unit which has been altered or on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed;
  3. Normal wear and any periodic maintenance;
  4. Deterioration due to perspiration, corrosive atmosphere or other external causes such as extremes in temperature or humidity;
  5. Damages attributable to lighting damage or acts of God, or
  6. Strings, pegs, chinrests, endpins and tailpieces.

Warranty on pegs, chinrests, endpins and tailpieces is expressly limited to one year. Bridges are covered by warranty for a period of three months. Instrument adjustment is not covered by this warranty. Please note that exposure to excessive heat, cold, dryness, or moisture is considered neglect. Openings in an instrument’s seams are considered common, therefore not covered by the warranty. Because of the nature of wood and its reactions to seasonal changes, OMS' instruments have been made using traditional hide glue to ensure that seasonal swelling or shrinking of the wood will not result in cracks to the wood, but rather in simple-to-repair seam openings. To avoid seam openings or cracks caused by extreme or sudden changes in temperature or humidity, please protect your instrument by maintaining humidity levels between 40% and 70%, and do not expose your instrument to temperatures above or below those generally found comfortable by people (roughly 55-90 degrees Fahrenheit). Any evidence of alteration, erasing or forgery of proof-of-purchase documents will cause this warranty to be void. This warranty covers only the Original Owner and is not transferable.

Coverage for Bows: Limited lifetime warranty applies only to the Original Owner. Hair is not covered by the warranty, except for its installation. (In other words, if a bow’s original hair falls out, that is covered.) Original hair installation is covered for a period of six months. The warranty does not cover:

  1. Damage caused by neglect or misuse;
  2. Damage caused by normal wear under normal conditions;
  3. Any repair or attempted repair by anyone other than OMS.

Wooden bows react to changes in temperature and humidity. One common result of exposure to extremes of temperature or humidity is warpage, which is not covered by the warranty. Please also note that bows left tight for long periods of time are likely to warp. To protect your bow from warping, always be sure to loosen it after each time of playing. Bone or imitation ivory tip plates are designed to protect the bow’s fragile tips.These can be damaged either by dropping or hitting of the bow tip, or by hair wedges that are installed too tightly. For this reason, OMS limits its warranty of tip plates to one year, or until the first rehair, whichever comes first. Cracks resulting from excessive external force or abuse of the bow are not covered. The sticks of NeoTek carbon composite bows are warranted for life against warpage and breaking. The finish of these bows is not covered by the warranty.

Coverage for Cases: OMS warrants cases to be free from defects in materials and construction for two years from the date of purchase by or for the Original Owner. Damage caused by normal wear, misuse or neglect is not covered. Damage to instruments, bows, or other personal property being stored or transported in OMS cases is not covered by the warranty.
